TANZANITE

TANZANITE

Tanzanite is a species of the Zoisite mineral family found in the Morogoro region, Tanzania. The discovery of this stone is quite interesting. In 1967, at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in northern Tanzania, a farmer discovered an unusual stone in the area. The stone was blue-violet in color, a color never seen before. The stone was later identified by scientists to be a stone called Tanzanite. Since tanzanite is a naturally occurring stone, each tanzanite stone shows a unique color and pattern.

Tanzanite has a stunning color spectrum and can appear different colors in different lighting conditions. This property is known as pleochroism. This feature of tanzanite distinguishes it from other types of precious stones.

Because Tanzanite is a naturally occurring gemstone, it is rarer than other gemstones. Tanzanite resources in Tanzania are limited and hence tanzanite is more expensive than other gemstones. Additionally, the value of tanzanite depends on factors such as color saturation, clarity, cut, and carat weight.

Tanzanite is a very popular stone in the jewelery industry and is often used in jewelry such as rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets. Due to Tanzanite's high scratch resistance and durability, it is also known as a long-lasting gem.

Tanzanite is used not only in the jewelry industry but also in the field of alternative medicine. Some people believe that tanzanite strengthens the immune system, reduces stress, and reduces physical and mental fatigue. However, there is not enough scientific research on the medical use of tanzanite.

As a result, tanzanite has an important place in the jewelry industry due to its eye-catching color, rarity, natural formation and durability. It is also used by some people in alternative medicine.
